COVID-19 & the CU Anschutz Community

March 27, 2020

Extending Remote Working Through Friday, April 17

Earlier this week, we announced an extension of remote working through Friday, April 17, for those currently approved to work remotely. As always, those with clinical responsibilities should consult with their clinical supervisors.

Campus Unites for PPE & Supply Drive

This week’s campus drive for urgently needed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other supplies was a tremendous effort and a great success. Our deepest gratitude to all who took part to help fill a portion of the vital gaps for our clinical providers, and to the Environmental Health and Safety and Facilities teams who coordinated this effort. At last count, the campus donated the following:
  • 245,000 pairs of gloves
  • 47,500 gowns
  • 36,600 masks
  • 50 cases of disinfectant wipes
The numbers alone are impressive, but they also demonstrate the collaborative and generous spirit of our campus community, united in response to this crisis. A special thank you to the CU School of Dental Medicine for its substantial contribution of seven pallets of PPE. Thank you!

While the drive concludes today, you can continue to contribute. Contact suppliesforCOVID@cuanschutz.edu with questions.

Reducing Stigma

We continue to hear and read about a rise in hostility directed toward people perceived to be of Asian descent. We can and should all play a role in rejecting such behavior.

Campus Resources & Reminders

  • Professional Development: Faculty and staff are encouraged to use the LinkedIn Learning access available to them, free of charge, to build new creative, software and business skills.
  • Social/Physical Distancing: Please follow prevention protocols, avoid person-to-person contact and continue refraining from in-person meetings. Keep at least 6 feet (or the length of skis) between yourself and others.
  • Mental Health and Well-Being: The CU Department of Psychiatry has created a COVID-19 Support website full of resources.
In addition to these Friday afternoon updates, we will continue to send communications as the rapidly changing situation warrants. Please visit www.cuanschutz.edu/coronavirus for the latest information.
