COVID-19 & the CU Anschutz Community

July 31, 2020

Campus Operational Decisions in Place

The CU Anschutz Medical Campus is continuing with a hybrid model that supports working and learning from both home and the workplace. We continue to invite additional people and areas for a return to select on-campus activity. As a reminder, anyone on campus  must be invited and approved for entry, and adhere to protocols and screening. Any working and learning that can be effectively accomplished remotely, should continue to be done remotely.

COVID-19 Self-Reporting: Anyone exposed, symptomatic, under quarantine or tested for COVID-19 must file a self-report here. Contact Cody Coburn, RN, Occupational Health Division Manager, at cody.coburn@cuanschutz.edu or 303-724-4663 with questions.

Notification of Exposure & Contact Tracing: We will notify you if you are at risk for a potential exposure or in the case of an outbreak on campus. Our contact tracing team will follow up with every individual who may have been exposed. At this time, we are unaware of any COVID-19-positive employee or student exposed while on campus. We will not publish the names of staff, students or faculty who may test positive.

Fall Classes: Fall teaching and learning will combine remote coursework with limited on-campus activity.

Remote Work: While we continue to slowly and safely return more people and areas to campus, non-critical faculty and staff should plan to continue remote work until further notice. Please ensure you have registered here.

Return to Campus: Only limited research and educational activity requiring in-person components has been approved for return. Students, residents, faculty or staff returning to campus for any reason must have first been invited and approved, and must adhere to return to campus protocols.

On-Campus Safety Protocols: Those invited and approved for on-campus activity must complete a one-time training, daily health questionnaires and check-in procedures, and adhere at all times to the mask, physical distancing, and personal and area hygiene requirements detailed on the return to campus webpage.

Events: All in-person, university-sponsored events and official functions are suspended through at least the end of August 2020.

Travel: Non-essential university-related domestic and international travel is suspended through at least December 31, 2020. Only absolutely essential domestic business travel may be considered for an exception. If you choose to conduct personal travel, know that restrictions may change quickly and if you are required to self-quarantine, you will need approval from your supervisor to work remotely or to take leave to accommodate the requirement.
