Announcing Associate Vice Chancellor & Chief Human Resources Officer, 6-1-23

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that Adrienne Howarth-Moore, MBA, RN, has been named Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer for the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, effective June 19, 2023. 

Adrienne brings a wealth of human resources expertise as well as a unique clinical background, including nursing credentials and training, to this position. She served most recently as associate vice president for human resources and chief human resources officer for the University of Texas at Austin. In that role, Adrienne oversaw nearly 70 staff members and programs serving 20,000 employees, including university benefits and employment, employee assistance, and faculty and staff wellness programming. 

Adrienne’s experience also includes occupational health; health and welfare benefits; retirement programs; workers’ compensation; diversity, equity and inclusion work; anti-discrimination practices; and labor, employment and privacy laws. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from UT Austin, as well as an executive MBA from Texas Woman's University. She is a licensed registered nurse, and former certified occupational health case manager and certified occupational health nurse specialist.

We are grateful to the search committee, chaired by Vice Chancellor and Senior Managing Associate University Counsel Steve Zweck-Bronner, for its work with search firm WittKieffer to find the right candidate for this vital role. We also thank Doug Kasyon for returning from his retirement to serve in an interim leadership position as we conducted this important search. 

We are fortunate to have attracted a leader with such fitting qualifications and deep experience to this role. We are eager for all that Adrienne will bring to Human Resources as we head into our next chapter as a campus community.
