We are pleased to share the terrific news that the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, along with the CU Denver campus, is listed among Forbes’ list of America’s Best Large Employers for 2024.
This national recognition is particularly meaningful for our campus as we work together to make CU Anschutz a place where all members of our community feel empowered, supported and valued. Our thanks goes to you for driving our progress.
Investing in Our People
We know that our extraordinary faculty, staff and students are our greatest strength. That is why investing in your success is among our top priorities and strategic initiatives.
Today we are pleased to share the following updates on employee benefits, compensation and recruitment. We are grateful to the deans, executive leadership, and finance and human resources teams for making these investments in our workforce a reality.
As of January 1, enrichments to the Paid Parental Leave (PPL) program extend the paid leave portion of PPL time available to qualified faculty and staff who are new parents from 4 weeks to 6 weeks of 100% pay. In addition, the one-year waiting period for PPL eligibility has been waived. More information is available on the HR website.
As of February 1, the minimum wage at CU Anschutz increased from $15/hour to $18/hour for classified and university staff, and from $15/hour to $16.22/hour for student employees. This boost to our minimum wage positively impacted over 400 staff members and student workers who keep our campus moving forward every day.
This spring, CU Anschutz will launch a new employee recruiting program in partnership with diversity-focused recruitment company Circa. As a Circa Diversity Employer, 100% of our posted job opportunities will appear on more than 600 diversity job boards across the country, helping us further expand our reach and attract skilled candidates to the CU Anschutz community.
We hope you share our pride in this news, and we want you to know that there is much more to come. You make everything we do possible, and we’re committed to ensuring you have the resources to thrive.
We look forward to building on our momentum to elevate CU Anschutz as an enriching and rewarding place to work, learn and serve.
With gratitude,
