Dear colleagues,
As the new semester gets underway, I’d like to share with you an exciting change in how we communicate about our campus.
We at CU Anschutz share the same values of excellence with the entire CU system, but our health-based mission is distinct. And while our administrative consolidation with the CU Denver campus in 2004 yielded a number of benefits, the shared “ucdenver.edu” domain name does not align with what the CU Anschutz Medical Campus is and does. I vowed to you at last October’s State of the Campus address that we would work to change that, and I am pleased to say we are doing so.
Beginning in early 2019, we will shift our domain name to “cuanschutz.edu.” This change will affect websites and email addresses for CU Anschutz faculty, staff, students and programs, as well as those who serve both CU Anschutz and CU Denver.
The Office of Information Technology (OIT) team is putting together a project plan to implement the domain name transition as seamlessly as possible, with a minimum of disruption not only to those of us at CU Anschutz, but also at our partner hospitals and at CU Denver. Look for regular communications from OIT on the change and implementation plans over the next few months.
The change builds a foundation for renewed branding and marketing efforts for the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, also set to begin in 2019.
We have a wonderful story to tell and it gets better every day. The shift to “cuanschutz.edu” brings us one step – and to my mind a rather large step – closer to telling that story, with each email we send and each web page we manage. Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation as we work through the details of this exciting change.
Finally, I hope to see you at the CU Anschutz block party next Wednesday, Sep. 12!
