Dear colleagues:
I am writing to share some good news ahead of the 2023 holiday season. While the end of the year is months ahead, we hope this announcement gives you time to plan for holiday activities or travel.
University operations at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus will be officially closed from end of business on Friday, December 22, through Monday, January 1, resuming Tuesday, January 2.
Those employees with clinical responsibilities and other essential functions requiring them to be on campus during that week will receive equivalent administrative/holiday leave prior to the end of the fiscal year on June 30, 2024. We are thankful to those who sustain our essential campus operations year round and encourage you to take this additional leave at a more convenient time, in coordination with your supervisor.
We made the decision to free up the week in recognition of your hard work by moving university recognition of Christmas Eve from December 22 to December 26, and combining the holidays of December 25 and December 26 with additional paid administrative leave for CU Anschutz faculty and staff. You can find our updated holiday schedule on the Human Resources website. Any additional administrative holiday leave that might be identified by Governor Polis this year will offset, rather than further extend, this additional paid administrative leave.
Please accept our appreciation for all you do every day to keep our mission moving forward. We hope you will enjoy the additional time off for some well-deserved rest and relaxation this holiday season.
Sincerely,
Don Elliman
Chancellor
