Chancellor's Communique
Philanthropy hits all-time high, 8-12-19
Dear colleagues,
The fiscal year that ended June 30 marked a new record for private support at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus. With your help, we surpassed last year’s total, raising $324.3 million from more than 6,600 benefactors. This is a truly remarkable accomplishment,
and we have you to thank for our success.
What I’ve learned in my time here as chancellor is that these gifts are the result of your life-changing work and your dedication to education, research and care. It’s not about dollars in the door, but rather the track record of innovation
and the tremendous talent that inspire confidence in our vision. It’s about the relationships that our physicians, nurses and providers build with our patients, and the gratitude that those patients and their families have for the care received
here. It’s about the novel discoveries and bold breakthroughs you make in our research labs, and the people and communities benefiting from that work. It’s about the educational experiences of our students and trainees, and the leading-edge
curriculum our schools and colleges make available to future leaders in diverse fields. It’s about alumni inspired to give back to the next generation and carry forward our reputation for excellence.
Every gift is a vote of confidence in our vision as a campus and the direction we’re headed together, and every gift is a testament to the caliber of the faculty, staff and students who make the CU Anschutz Medical Campus the destination it is today.
To say I’m grateful would be an understatement. I’m humbled to serve with you as we continue to aspire to ever greater heights.
With appreciation,
Don Elliman
