Alana Jones

Alana C. Jones is the Interim Vice Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor of Student Success at the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus. The university focuses on an unparalleled student experience, utilizing talent and technology to assure that we exceed student expectations in education and support. The Student Success division includes the Academic Achievement, CU Anschutz Student Affairs, Auraria Library, Health, Wellness, Advocacy & Support, International Affairs, Student & Community Engagement, Student Enrollment Operations & Compliance, and Student Success Initiatives.

Alana joined the university in 2012 in the Office of International Affairs and has led that office for the last two years. Prior to joining the university, she managed international research and learning projects and on-continent flight logistics in the United States Antarctic Program (USAP), spending four out of eight years on the continent of Antarctica at McMurdo and Palmer Stations. Following the USAP, she was at Earthwatch Institute for 10 years where she oversaw research and learning centers in Brazil, China, Costa Rica, India, the United Kingdom, and in Maryland. Alana received her Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Georgia and her Master of Science in International Relations from the University of Massachusetts Boston. She is an avid skier, swimmer, traveler, as well as a devotee of all genres of live music.
