COVID-19

Approval process to access the CU Anschutz or CU Denver Campus and/or conduct face-to-face clinical research activities

March 18, 2020

Dear Clinical Research Colleagues,

As the campus continues to balance the risk to participants and employees related to COVID-19, acknowledging the potential therapeutic benefit of certain clinical research studies, an approval and tracking process is being established to support continuity of critical research operations.

If you need ongoing physical access to campus in order to provide essential clinical research support, campus leaders must track these activities for your safety and security.  As all faculty and staff able to perform their activities remotely are no longer coming to campus, there is now a required review and approval process for any clinical research team member that has a continuing need to be physically present in their customary research setting.

Which settings does this include?

  • CU Anschutz campus buildings
  • CU Denver campus buildings
  • CU Medicine free-standing clinics
  • Community-based non-hospital settings

Which settings does this NOT include?*

  • Affiliated hospitals, such as UCHealth and Children’s Hospital Colorado
  • Adult and pediatric CTRCs
  • Community-based hospitals
  • CU Boulder campus
  • CU Colorado Springs campus

* Any research in one of these settings is subject to the policies and procedures of that facility.

If you are involved in any continuing clinical research activities in the settings described above and require ongoing access to campus, you must complete this survey as soon as possible. Your request to continue these activities will be reviewed promptly, and you will receive either clearance to proceed or a request for further information.
