Booster Requirement
A COVID-19 booster shot will be required for all students, faculty and staff beginning January 24. Booster doses must be recorded in the CU Anschutz vaccine verification system.
Students
You are now asked to verify your COVID-19 vaccination and booster in the university vaccine verification system. You will receive instructions later today, so check your inbox. This is in addition to previously providing vaccine
documentation to your school, college or program.
Employees
You can now enter your booster details in the university vaccine verification system, where you previously documented vaccination. Log in here to add your booster information today.
How to Get You Booster Shot
If you have not received a COVID-19 booster shot, schedule your free shot today through UCHealth My Health Connection or any vaccine provider. Per the CDC, you are eligible if you completed the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines 5 months ago, or the Johnson and Johnson vaccine 2 months ago. All Coloradans 12+ are eligible for boosters. Learn more.
Campus Operations & Booster Requirement
Chancellor Elliman shared operational updates last
week, which were made to help ensure the safety of our campus community and sustain operations as COVID-19 cases continue to spike in Colorado.
Please note that the following are in place at this time:
- Remote working and learning are currently in place. In-person activity to begin Jan. 24, or as specified by school or unit.*
- Remote working until January 24*: All able to work remotely are to continue to do so until January 24.* This is in addition to those already working fully remotely, or in a hybrid manner. Clinical faculty and staff should follow
clinical work policies in their clinical sites of practice, and follow university policies when working in CU Anschutz facilities.
- Remote learning in place: Spring academic activity is beginning as planned; however, modifications have been made to transition many in-person activities to remote learning. Students are receiving details from their schools and
programs.
- Meetings, gatherings and events on hold until January 24*: In-person meetings, gatherings and events of any size ‒ on campus or off campus ‒ are on hold until January 24. Room reservations for non-essential, in-person functions
that are currently booked in the EMS system until Jan. 24 should be canceled.*
- Booster requirement starts January 24: A COVID-19 booster shot will be required for all students, faculty and staff beginning January 24.
- Those who have not yet documented a booster dose in the CU Anschutz vaccine verification system will receive reminders to do so starting this week.
- Eligibility timing differs based on when you received your final dose of your initial vaccine. We will follow CDC booster guidelines - currently 5 months after Moderna or Pfizer and 2 months after Johnson & Johnson. If you are not yet eligible, you will be required to get the booster within one month
of eligibility.
- The Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines are preferred for primary and booster vaccines.
- Parking lots open until January 24*: All university permit parking lots except the Leadville lot are open and available for students and employees for closer parking and access to their vehicles during work shifts and/or classes, until January 24.*
- Safety reminders:
- If you must be on campus, follow established protocols including wearing a mask indoors and physical distancing.
- When taking breaks or meals indoors, find a designated space, keep 6+ feet from others, limit unmasked time in these spaces, and mask between bites of food of sips of beverages. Take breaks and meals outdoors, or in your vehicle, when weather permits.
- Take advantage of free COVID-19 testing. COVIDCheck Colorado operates numerous area locations, with expanded availability at locations including the APS Professional Learning and Conference Center, located only three miles from campus.
- Self-report your status if
you develop symptoms, test positive, or may have been exposed.
The campus leadership team is closely monitoring evolving COVID-19 conditions, and will update you via email of any changes to campus operations or protocols. Find the latest on the campus protocols webpage.
