COVID-19 & the CU Anschutz Community
Our thanks to the more than 300 faculty, students and staff members who took the time to fill out our COVID-19 communications survey. The majority of respondents opted to keep these updates coming weekly, and some suggested sending them earlier in the day, so check your inbox every Friday morning for the latest. If you haven’t taken the survey yet, there’s still time to share your thoughts.
We remain unaware of any COVID-19-positive employee or student exposed while on campus. We thank those individuals invited back to campus - totaling approximately 3,000 employees and students thus far - for helping keep our community healthy. Your continued adherence to on-campus safety protocols and screening is essential.
If you are at risk for a potential exposure, or in the case of an outbreak on campus, you will be notified. Our contact tracing team will follow up with every individual who may have been exposed. We will not publish the names of staff, students or faculty who may test positive.
The #CUAnschutzTogether initiative aims to remind us that we all play a role in taking care of one another. You will see special messaging on campus and online in the coming weeks, as well as stories like this one about the many people working hard to keep our community healthy and safe.
As noted last week, our campus leadership team is assessing whether additional child care and/or elder care resources might be an option for members of our campus community. A committee is researching options and interviewing providers now, and a decision is anticipated this month. Find links to area resources online.
The leadership team is finalizing an interim remote work arrangement policy, which is a modification of existing policy, offering as much flexibility as possible to the thousands of CU Anschutz faculty, staff and students continuing to work and learn from home. We look forward to sharing changes and next steps in future updates. In the meantime, please see your supervisor/unit head with questions.
We continue to add to the return to campus FAQ page as we hear from you. Topics include mask guidance, travel, screening, events and more. Visit regularly for the latest, and submit your questions at the bottom of the page.
Anyone with COVID-19-like symptoms, awaiting test results or tested positive, or exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 case must file a self-report. Contact Cody Coburn, RN, Occupational Health Division Manager, at cody.coburn@cuanschutz.edu or 303-724-4663 with questions.
