As I shared yesterday, CU Anschutz considers your health and safety our top priority, and our slow and measured approach to return to campus activity remains in place.
The screening and safety protocols, along with our contact tracing and case investigation program, are proving highly effective. We are at this time not aware of any COVID-positive employee or student exposed while on campus.
Your continued adherence to safety protocols is essential if we are to avoid an outbreak or another potential shutdown.

COVID-19 Contact Tracing Program
Read about the team conducting COVID-19 case investigations, contact tracing and resource coordination at CU Anschutz, in partnership with local and state health agencies. The team has investigated more than 250 cases, and so far found no infections that originated on our campus.
Paired with on-campus safety protocols and screening, contact tracing is essential to keeping our campus safe. If you are at risk for a potential exposure, or in the case of an outbreak on campus, you will be notified. The contact tracing team will follow up with every individual who may have been exposed. We will not publish the names of staff, students or faculty who may test positive.
Update on Child Care & Elder Care Resources
Our campus leadership team has narrowed in on a preferred provider offering additional options for child care and elder care resources. The committee is now entering the negotiation process with this provider, and a decision is anticipated soon. We will share details when they are available. Find links to area resources online.
Change to Approval Policy for Essential University-Related Travel
The only university-related travel that may be considered for approval at this time is essential domestic business travel. While all requests for this exception previously required dean or vice chancellor approvals, requests for same-day, in-state essential business travel may now be approved by your department or unit head. Multi-day in-state business travel or domestic travel outside of Colorado still requires dean or vice chancellor approval. Please see your supervisor/unit head with requests, and plan accordingly.
All non-essential university-related travel, domestic and international, remains suspended through at least December 31, 2020. Personal travel guidance remains the same. If you choose to conduct personal travel, know that restrictions may change quickly and if you are required to self-quarantine, you will need approval from your supervisor to work remotely or to take leave to accommodate the requirement.
Hardware and Software Needs for Remote Activities
The Office of Information Technology’s recommendations and requirements for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, internet service and other essential tools for remote activity are detailed on its website, including instructions for accessing your work computer remotely or replacing a computer, and requesting one-on-one help.
Reminder on COVID-19 Self-Reporting
Anyone with COVID-19-like symptoms, exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 case, recently tested for COVID-19 due to exposure or COVID-like symptoms, or tested positive must file a self-report.
