COVID-19 & the CU Anschutz Community
As we head into the long weekend, I want to again thank you for doing your part to keep our campus and community moving forward. Many of us are navigating the beginning of a new school year for ourselves and our families, while also continuing to adapt
to change in our personal and professional lives.
I am proud of the spirit of community among our students, faculty and staff, and grateful for all we’ve come together to achieve. Our true strength is our people and, every day, your
choices are helping keep #CUAnschutzTogether.
Enjoy the Labor Day weekend, and please stay safe.
Sincerely,
Don Elliman
Chancellor
Join 5-minute “Mindful Moment” guided meditation exercises via Zoom every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 7:50 a.m. Hosted by the National Mental Health Innovation Center, these already-popular sessions focus on stress management in response to COVID-19. Register here.
Beginning Tuesday, September 8, the Well-Being Support Line (303-724-2500) for faculty, clinicians, PRAs and staff will offer texting service, and a new Physician-to-Physician Support Line (303-724-1636) launches. Find additional resources here.
Get your annual flu vaccination through the CU Anschutz Campus Health Center. Students, faculty and staff can call 303-724-6242 to make an appointment. Most insurance plans cover the cost of your flu shot, and self-pay is also available. Find details
on the Campus Health Center website.
On-campus flu clinics will be located in a tent in the Monte Vista parking lot south of the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center at your scheduled time. Designated patient parking spaces and outdoor waiting areas will be clearly marked. Please do not arrive early
or late, and do not enter the Wellness Center building. Due to COVID-19, appointments, mask wearing and pre-appointment screening are required. A 15-minute post-vaccine waiting period is recommended, and space will be available.
Appointments
are offered most Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays, 9/14 - 10/15, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. You may also visit the Belleview Point Clinic curbside flu clinic on 9/23 or 10/7. The Campus Health Center is able to accommodate other times on an individual basis as needed - please call to set up a time.
Last week, we shared that we are working quickly to finalize new options for students, faculty and staff with needs for childcare and elder care services, and we are pleased to report that we are finalizing those details now. We expect a program to be in place before the end of September, and more information from the Human Resources Office will be coming soon. Visit the childcare and elder care webpage for area resources available to members of the CU community today, including childcare, before- or after-school care, preschool and remote learning assistance.
