COVID-19 & the CU Anschutz Community
Today marks 19 years since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. But those tragic events are far from forgotten.
Indeed, today is a fitting time to reflect on the selfless work of the countless heroes who sacrificed everything to save others, to remember the thousands of lives lost, and to acknowledge that the impacts of that day continue to reverberate throughout our country.
This is also a day for unity and for hope, as we are reminded of the incredible strength and resilience of communities coming together in common purpose.
May we never forget.

A redesigned COVID-19 website launched last week offers a streamlined look at campus status and updates, including the COVID-19 dashboard and campus resources. The new site helps users more easily find timely information, useful links and answers to common questions related to COVID-19.
The Human Resources Office announced temporary changes to the alternative work arrangements policy that offer additional flexibility for CU Anschutz faculty, staff and students working and learning from home while balancing child or senior care responsibilities. During the current period, care of dependents may occur during regular work hours, so long as productivity remains at the level of a regular work week. Variances to standard work hours are to be agreed upon and documented by employee and supervisor, and you can find details here.
As noted last week, we expect a new program to be in place before the end of September, and more information from the Human Resources Office will be coming soon. Visit the childcare and elder care webpage for area resources available to members of the CU community today, including childcare, before- or after-school care, preschool and remote learning assistance.
Get your annual flu vaccination through the CU Anschutz Campus Health Center. Students, faculty and staff can call 303-724-6242 to make an appointment. Most insurance plans cover the cost of your flu shot, and self-pay is also available. Find details on the Campus Health Center website.
On-campus flu clinics will be located in a tent in the Monte Vista parking lot south of the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center at your scheduled time. Designated patient parking spaces and outdoor waiting areas will be clearly marked. Please do not arrive early or late, and do not enter the Wellness Center building. Due to COVID-19, appointments, mask wearing and pre-appointment screening are required. A 15-minute post-vaccine waiting period is recommended, and space will be available.
Appointments are offered most Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays, 9/14 - 10/15, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. You may also visit the Belleview Point Clinic curbside flu clinic on 9/23 or 10/7. The Campus Health Center is able to accommodate other times on an individual basis as needed - please call to set up a time.
