COVID-19 & the CU Anschutz Community
Balancing Work and Home with Care@Work by Care.com.
This week, we announced that our campus is partnering with Care@Work by Care.com to add a new family care program to help you balance demands at work and home during this difficult time.
Care.com is an online network of care providers offering childcare, tutoring and learning pods, nannies and nanny shares, senior care, pet sitting, housekeeping and other services.
We appreciate the challenges so many members of the CU Anschutz community are facing, and we are pleased to offer these services to help. I encourage you to visit cuanschutz.edu/caregivers to check your eligibility and enroll.
Sincerely,
Don Elliman
Chancellor
Next week, you will see three student ambassadors out and about on campus, helping to welcome those approved for on-campus activity and answering your questions about physical distancing, masks, campus check-in and screening processes, and more.
Our student ambassadors are here to help keep our community safe, and they will politely remind and assist those on campus with our protocols. When you see them, say hello and grab a mug or T-shirt. And as always, thank you for doing your part to help keep #CUAnschutzTogether.
Mark your calendar for the annual State of the Campus Address, coming up Wednesday, 11/11, at 10 a.m. Join with the campus community virtually as we hear from Chancellor Don Elliman and set our sights together on a bright future. Details to come.
The Strauss Health Sciences Library has again extended its hours, offering more time for studying and learning on campus. The library is open seven days a week, from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Students wishing to study in groups can do so in clearly marked designated spaces, and you can even make reservations for individual and group study rooms ahead of time. Mask requirements and physical distancing are in place. Details online.
Call the CU Anschutz Campus Health Center at 303-724-6242 to make your annual flu shot appointment. Most insurance plans cover the cost, and self-pay is also available. All students, faculty and staff may get their flu shot on campus, regardless of whether you are approved for on-campus working or learning. Find details on the Campus Health Center website.
Appointments are offered most Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays through 10/15, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 5 p.m., or as needed. You may also visit the Belleview Point Clinic curbside flu clinic on 10/7.
On-campus clinics are located in a tent in the Monte Vista parking lot south of the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center at your scheduled time. Designated patient parking spaces and outdoor waiting areas will be clearly marked. Please do not arrive early or late, and do not enter the Wellness Center building. Due to COVID-19, appointments, mask-wearing and pre-appointment screening are required. A 15-minute post-vaccine waiting period is recommended, and waiting space is available.
