Congratulations to the Class of 2020

Tomorrow, we proudly welcome the August and December graduates of the Class of 2020 into our alumni community at a special virtual fall commencement ceremony. As our graduates go on to diverse healthcare careers, we highlight their stories in an “Our 2020 Grads” series, running through December.

Vaccines Coming to Colorado

This week, CU President Mark Kennedy, Chancellor Elliman and the chancellors of the other three CU campuses shared a message on vaccine distribution in Colorado and what it might mean for the university. Our campus is working closely with CDPHE, Tri-County Health Department and our hospital partners to prepare for the phased distribution in our state, and more information will be shared as those plans evolve. Free & Easy COVID-19 Testing for You & Your Household

You can take advantage of free COVID-19 testing through December 31, and schedule tests for members of your household including minors. Learn more and schedule your test here.

Please remember that if you have COVID-19 symptoms or have been exposed, you must self-report your status.

14-Day Quarantine Remains in Effect

Last week, the CDC released new recommendations on options for reducing quarantine times for those who have been exposed to a COVID-19-positive individual but who have not developed any symptoms of COVID-19. 

At CU Anschutz, our 14-day quarantine protocol remains in effect for those exposed. The decision on whether and when to implement the new guidance on our campus is up to Tri-County Health Department. We will communicate any future changes to this timeframe if/when they are made.

If you have been exposed to a COVID-19-positive individual, within 6 feet or less for a cumulative total of 15 or more minutes over a 24-hour period, self-report your status.

Adams County Still "Level Red"

Adams County and much of the Denver metro area remain at “Level Red: Severe Risk” on Colorado’s COVID-19 dial. Thanks to the robust on-campus protocols for those approved for in-person activity, our strong testing and contact tracing program, and the fact our students and employees continue to do everything remotely that can be done remotely, our campus remains healthy and safe at this time. 

It is vital to continue to do your part by wearing a mask, washing your hands frequently, keeping your distance, avoiding gathering with anyone outside your household, and staying home when you are sick. If you do experience COVID-19 symptoms or believe you may have been exposed, whether on campus or off, self-report your status and stay home.

Holiday Hours: Campus Check-in & Screening Locations

Holiday hours are in place at campus check-in and screening locations starting 12/21, and details are on the coronavirus website, the campus map and posted signage. You must complete the daily health questionnaire during after-hours self-check-in.
