The inaugural chairholder will be Martin McCarter, MD, who has a faculty appointment in the Division of Surgical Oncology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in addition to his work at the CU Cancer Center. Distributions from the endowment will provide crucial resources to Dr. McCarter, enabling advancements in melanoma research, curriculum development and student engagement.
The establishment of this chair honors the enduring relationship between the Mandelbaum family and CU Anschutz, as well as the Mandelbaums’ longstanding support of Dr. William Robinson and his groundbreaking melanoma research. Dr. Robinson's invaluable consultation guided the selection of Dr. McCarter as the first holder of this chair.
We thank the Mandelbaum family for their generosity and for the impact their gift will have on cancer research, treatment and prevention for years to come.
