Jul 1, 2024On the evening of May 14, 2024, 41 guests gathered to celebrate the establishment of the Endowed Chair in Cardiology Imaging and its inaugural holder, Robert Quaife, MD, Director of Advanced Cardiac Imaging at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. This Chair was made possible by a generous $2 million gift from an anonymous benefactor with the aim of advancing techniques and treatments in the cardiology field.
Attendees mingled over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres before Scott Arthur, Vice Chancellor of Advancement, opened the evening’s program. Tom Gronow, president and CEO of UChealth, then took to the podium to introduce cardiology professor Larry Allen, MD.
“Endowed chairs are invaluable for the Department of Cardiology, as the resources provided by faculty chair positions help us advance key initiatives today and dream big for the future,” Dr. Allen said.
Dr. Quaife was then introduced and invited to speak, offering gratitude for the anonymous benefactor and remarking on all that the Endowed Chair appointment would make possible for the future of cardiology imaging. Scott Arthur then returned to the podium for the official gift presentation.
“Dr. Quaife, this medallion symbolizes the honor of holding an endowed chair and the impact you will continue to have on the field of medicine,” he said.
