University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus (CU Anschutz) is a member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). CU Anschutz is authorized to provide distance education, including online classes, continuing education opportunities, field trip experiences, and ‘experiential’ activities to students located in other states that participate in NC-SARA.

While CU Anschutz is currently authorized or exempt from seeking state authorizations  across the United States, this process is dynamic and subject to change. This website will be periodically updated with information about professional licensure and policies to support your education. Students should check the State Authorization and Professional Licensure material before registering for classes each session for the most up-to-date information.

Professional Licensure

University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (CU Anschutz) programs for professions that require licensure or certification are intended to prepare the student for Colorado licensure and certification requirements. Admission into programs for professions that require licensure or certification does not guarantee that students will obtain a license or certificate.

Licensure and certification requirements are set by agencies that are not controlled by or affiliated with CU Anschutz, and licensure and certification requirements can change at any time. In addition, licensing requirements in Colorado may not be recognized as sufficient to obtain a license or certificate in another state.

Currently, CU Anschutz has not determined whether its programs meet other states’ educational or professional requirements for licensure and certification. Students planning to pursue licensure or certification in other states are responsible for determining whether, if they complete a CU Anschutz program, they will meet another state’s requirements for licensure or certification. This disclosure is made pursuant to 34 CFR §668.43(a)(5)(v)(C). This webpage will be periodically updated with program-specific disclosure information, as such information is made available.
