Commencement FAQs

The fall commencement ceremony takes place in the Colorado Convention Center at 700 14th Street in Denver.

Graduates may invite as many guests as they wish. No tickets are issued for the ceremony.

Yes, the ceremony will be livestreamed. The link will be posted to the commencement homepage prior to the start of the event.

Yes, registering for the ceremony confirms your participation and provides you with information about renting your cap and gown.

Diplomas will be mailed out automatically to the mailing address on file after degrees have been awarded. There is currently no diploma pick up at the Office of the Registrar. Please ensure your mailing address in your student record is up to date. Please visit our guide on how to Update your Student Profile . Diplomas will take about 5-8 weeks to receive from Paradigm.

Parking is available in surrounding lots as well as in the Convention Center garage for $12 for up to 8 hours. Please note that due to the expansion of the convention center, the number of spaces has been reduced. Additional parking can be found at the Denver Performing Arts Complex (DPAC). Alternatively, RTD's light rail drops off and picks up at the Colorado Convention Center on Stout Street.

Designated disability-related parking is available in the Colorado Convention Center parking garage. A valid state-issued ADA placard or license plate is required. All disability-related parking is first-come, first-served and requires payment at the pay stations.

Graduates will be asked during the registration process to identify any disability-related accommodations that may be needed to participate fully in the commencement ceremony. Sign language interpreters can be arranged as needed. Service animals ​(not emotional support animals) are permitted at the ceremony and must be pre-communicated during registration for planning purposes. 

Resources are available to assist guests to and from ceremonies. Additional services are available upon request.

The following items are not permitted inside the facility: alcohol, illegal drugs, bottles, cans, coolers, fireworks, helium balloons, confetti, aerosol cans, defensive weapons, artificial noise makers, banners, signs larger than 11x14, and pets (service animals are permitted).
