Demetria M. Bolden, PhD, MBA is an Assistant Professor in the School of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Anschutz Medical Campus. She received a PhD in communication studies from the University of Georgia, an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology, and a BS in marketing from Hampton University. She is a communication scientist, dissemination and implementation (D&I) researcher, racial disparities researcher, as serves as a catalyst for organizational healthcare innovation development. Her research addresses racial disparities in cardiovascular disease outcomes, chronic disease self-management, and the application of mixed methods in designing pragmatic trials. In addition, Dr. Bolden is the Associate Director for the Innovation Corps (I-Corps) at CCTSI program which is a team-based 3-week short course designed for faculty, staff and students to guide them through the early stages of customer discovery where they can test the business model hypotheses for their technology or idea.
