Dr. Glen Peterson's innovative approach to cancer care aims to bring advanced treatments into patients' homes, significantly reducing the burden of hospital visits. Supported by CU Innovations, Peterson's studies demonstrated the feasibility and transformative potential of in-home care for high-risk cancer patients, highlighting the profound benefits and cost efficiency of this model.

Effective January 1, 2025. Kimberly Muller, Esq. will enhance the innovation enterprise and expand industry partnerships in her new role, while continuing as Executive Director of CU Innovations. Since 2015, Kim has significantly contributed to CU Innovations' growth, fostering strong partnerships and transforming the campus's innovation ecosystem.

U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Telita Crosland visited the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus to discuss health system innovations and partnerships benefiting military and civilian health care. Key topics included virtual health advancements, joint ventures, and combat medicine research. The visit emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation in improving health care access and outcomes.

Steve VanNurden has made a transformative impact on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. When he joined 12 years ago, Colorado was seen as a "flyover state" in healthcare innovation. Today, thanks to his efforts, it is recognized as a bioscience leader. VanNurden founded CU Innovations, which has become a top-five innovation hub. Under his leadership, the program launched 44 companies, filed 1,833 patents, and developed 1,220 inventions.

CU Anschutz Hematology has made a remarkable impression at the 66th Annual American Society of Hematology (ASH) Conference, held from December 7-10, 2024, in San Diego, California. This year, CU Anschutz set a new record by presenting or contributing to 47 abstracts, showcasing their pioneering research and advancements in hematology.

OncoVerity has secured Series A extension funding to advance its Phase 2 trial of cusatuzumab for newly diagnosed AML patients. This trial, using a novel computational approach, aims to offer new hope for those with limited treatment options. First patients have been dosed, with interim results expected in late 2025.

Industry veterans Nathaniel "Ned" David, PhD, and Norman "Ned" Sharpless, MD, have launched Jupiter Bioventures, a biotechnology venture foundry aimed at transforming novel science into impactful companies. With the support of multiple new backers, including the CU Healthcare Innovation Fund, the venture plans to advance eight to ten companies focused on developing cancer therapeutics and other related treatments.
