Mission

The RFA's purpose is to foster the interests and well-being of retired faculty members of CU Anschutz, support social and educational opportunities, maintain active ties with the university, encourage volunteerism, mentorship/supporting junior faculty, and advocate for issues of concern to retired faculty and for faculty looking to retire.

  • A structured way to support CU Anschutz programs, allowing retirees to continue contributing experience and expertise to the campus.
  • A recognized venue through which retired faculty can stay engaged with the university’s mission and maintain a formal affiliation with CU Anschutz.
  • Opportunities to get together socially with former colleagues and friends, helping maintain a sense of community after retirement.
  • Events that enhance collegiality among retired faculty across the Anschutz schools and college.
  • A variety of lectures and presentations by distinguished scholars on topics such as biomedical research, art, history, technology, and travel, hosted throughout the year to inspire life-long learning.
  • Continued scientific and academic education opportunities that help retirees stay mentally active and connected to their disciplines.
  • Representation of retired faculty views and needs in appropriate university and campus forums, especially regarding availability and protection of benefits for retirees and their dependents.
  • Regular reports and updates on retired faculty benefits programs, helping members navigate health, retirement, and related options more confidently.
