What is Interprofessional Education (IPE)?

Effective Collaboration

4 Healthcare Professionals Collaborating

“Interprofessional education occurs when students from two or more professions learn about, from, and with each other to enable effective collaboration and improve health outcomes. Once students understand how to work interprofessionally, they are ready to enter the workplace as a member of the collaborative practice team. This is a key step in moving health systems from fragmentation to a position of strength.”

"Interprofessional education... is an opportunity to not only change the way that we think about educating future health workers but is an opportunity to step back and reconsider the traditional means of healthcare delivery. I think that what we are talking about is not just a change in educational practices, but a change in the culture of medicine and healthcare". –Student Leader
