HEAL TRAININGS AND WORKSHOPS

Our office houses the Health Equity in Action Lab (HEAL).  HEAL fosters action and leadership for health equity through training, consultation, and deliberate practice. In 2022 HEAL launched the Foundations in Equity Certificate Program that is open to all CU System employees and students. We are building community capacity through a train-the-trainer program—faculty and staff are trained as HEALers who can facilitate the Foundations in Equity Certificate ProgramIn addition, HEAL offers an array of trainings on health equity topics, workshops, retreat facilitation, and consultations by request. Our office believes HEAL is essential to improving access and engagement of our community members with the goal of improving health for all.

HEAL Train the Trainer Program

Interested in becoming a HEALer?

The Train the Trainer program has been developed to increase the availability of trainers to meet the needs of the CU Anschutz Medical Campus.  We will provide you with the knowledge, skills, and experience to deliver the Foundations in Equity Certificate content.  Training involves learning facilitation skills, session materials with facilitator guides, instruction on delivery strategies, as well as skills practice.

Any interested CU Anschutz employee may apply for the program.

Program Requirements:

  • HEALers-in-training will be required to complete the 4-part Foundation in Equity Certificate Program
  • After successful completion of the Foundations in Equity Certificate, HEALers-in-training will be provided session materials, including access to the slides used in the Foundations in Equity Certificate Program and facilitator guides.
  • HEALers-in-training will work as a learning community to practice content delivery. HEALers-in-training will then co-deliver the content with HEAL team members.
  • Once the program is satisfactorily completed, participants will receive a certificate recognizing them as HEALers. HEALers will be asked to provide training across the Anschutz Medical Campus based on their availability (about 2 hours per month).

*We are not currently taking applications, please check back or email heal@cuanschutz.edu to get added to our interest list when applications become available.
