HERITAGE, HISTORY AND AWARENESS MONTHS

Here you will find a listing of heritage, history and awareness months as well as holidays*, days of remembrance and lighthearted days of celebration (*many holidays fall on different dates from year-to-year and we made every effort to include accurate information, if you see a date that is incorrect or notice a holiday that is missing please let us know).  We hope this page will provide everyone with opportunities to honor, engage, celebrate and learn something new about various identities and topics.

Due to limited capacity, our office will be hosting four signature events per year in celebration of heritage months on a rotating basis.

Finally, we want to acknowledge that while certain months, weeks and days are designated to uplift specific communities, we believe that everyone should learn about and honor all identities year-round.

In 2024, our office will host signature events for the following observances:
  • Women's History Month: event took place Wednesday, March 13
  • Asian American Heritage Month: Due to unforeseen staff and volunteer bandwidth limitations and not wanting to put together an event without intention that would not honor cultures in a respectful way, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Asian American Heritage Month event this year.
  • Juneteenth (June 19): Our event Juneteenth, The Block Party was held on Thursday, June 13
  • Disability Employment Awareness Month: Our event was held on Thursday, October 3

Check out recordings of the virtual portions of our past events at this link.
