The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (CU Anschutz) is dedicated to the welfare and safety of all children and minors who visit our campus to participate in University-related programs, activities or events involving minors on the University campuses.
CU System Protection of Children Participating in University Programs for Children |
The University of Colorado offers many educational, cultural, service learning, volunteer, athletic, and other programs specifically for children. Operating programs for children creates obligations for the campus to protect children. Campuses also have an obligation to design and operate their programs for children in compliance with state and federal law, the Protection of Children Participating in University-Run and University-Contracted Programs for Children, and related procedures. |
CU Anschutz Child Protection Policy |
In 2018, CU Anschutz adopted Policy 3001—Child Protection Policy. This policy clarifies expectations and outlines campus requirements for protecting children participating in programs for minors.
Minors visiting University facilities and participating in university-sponsored programs and activities require particular vigilance to protect their safety and well-being. This policy sets forth the expectations for university students, faculty, staff, and volunteers, as well as nonaffiliated individuals and organizations that operate programs using university facilities that involve interaction with minors.
