Nelia Viveiros serves as the Associate
Vice Chancellor for Academic Resources at the University of Colorado
Anschutz Medical Campus. Dr. Viveiros has over 20 years of experience in
higher education. She not only oversees but also actively engages with
Adaptable Resolutions, and Ombuds offices to directly provide essential
services. She works closely within each unit, supporting the campus
community through hands-on involvement in training, development,
restorative justice, mediation, conflict mitigation, and advocacy.
Dr.
Viveiros brings extensive skills as an accredited coach with the
International Coaching Federation (ICF), a mediator, arbitrator, and
restorative justice advocate, and has successfully facilitated
resolutions for thousands of complex academic conflicts. Her leadership
and involvement in each office aim to maintain a supportive, fair, and
inclusive environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
As
a scholar, Dr. Viveiros focuses on organizational development, change,
and trauma within institutions. She has published in the Journal of
Family Violence, Inside Higher Ed, Feminist Criminology, and the Journal
of Loss and Trauma, and co-edited Incivility in Higher Education with
Cognella. Recognized for her contributions, she is included in The
Marquis Who’s Who Publications Board (2024) and is part of the Scholars
Strategy Network. Dr. Viveiros has also taught courses on research
capstone projects, access and equity in higher education, and the legal
and historical context of U.S. higher education.
