Office of Adaptable Resolutions

Empowering our Community to Resolve Conflict with Integrity and Compassion

Adaptable Resolutions at CU Anschutz

In a collaborative campus community like CU Anschutz, conflicts naturally occur. The Office of Adaptable Resolutions (OAR) offers private support to students, faculty, and staff through a process rooted in constructive dialogue, collaboration, and shared accountability.

Our educational, solutions-focused approach empowers individuals to explore meaningful pathways toward resolution—outside of formal disciplinary processes. By promoting empowered solutions and collaborative outcomes that strengthen relationships and enhance our campus culture, OAR fosters a respectful, engaged, and thriving university community.

Our vision is a CU Anschutz campus where every individual is equipped to navigate challenges constructively, contributing to academic success, personal growth, and a more connected university community.

Who Can Use OAR Services?

All members of our campus community—including students, faculty, and staff—are welcome to utilize OAR services. Whether you're experiencing interpersonal conflicts, communication breakdowns, or seeking guidance on navigating complex situations, we are here to support you. Whether you’re facing a specific conflict or seeking guidance on resolution options, OAR is here to help you explore effective, educational solutions that support a positive and thriving campus environment.

Examples of when to seek guidance:

Example: Two students disagreeing on how to proceed with a group research project can meet with a mediator to identify a path forward that satisfies both of their interests.

Example: A staff member feeling excluded from team decision-making can work with a coach to identify strategies to address concerns with their supervisor.

Example: Two faculty members with differing teaching philosophies can engage in facilitated dialogue to align course objectives and improve team-teaching dynamics.
