VOICE Champion Award

The CU Anschutz Staff Council is proud to introduce the VOICE Champion Award, a new recognition celebrating staff members who go above and beyond to foster a welcoming, respectful, and supportive campus environment.

This annual award honors individuals whose leadership, innovation, and advocacy strengthen our community and help ensure that everyone at CU Anschutz feels valued and empowered to thrive.

About the Award

The VOICE Champion Award recognizes CU Anschutz staff who demonstrate exceptional commitment to creating a positive campus climate. Nominees should embody the spirit of collaboration, respect, and community engagement through their everyday actions and long-term contributions.

Recipient Receives

$250 cash equivalent (ex. Visa Gift Card)
Commemorative plaque

Selection Process

Initial Review: A committee will assess eligibility and ensure nominations meet the criteria. Nominations with clear, specific examples of impact will move forward.

Voting: Summarized nominations will be shared with VOICE members, who will vote for the nominee they believe has made the greatest contribution.

Final Selection: The nominee with the highest number of votes will be selected. In the event of a tie, the committee will deliberate to choose the recipient.

Recognition: The awardee will be formally announced and honored for their outstanding service to the CU Anschutz community.

Did you know ANY Classified, University, or Research staff member (on the University of Colorado payroll) is eligible to be nominated?

Any University of Colorado employee can nominate a staff member.

Nominees will be evaluated on the below. Keep these in mind when you are completing your nomination. Does the person show:

Commitment to Fairness and Respect
- A consistent record of supporting a welcoming environment and upholding respectful engagement across the CU Anschutz community.
Impactful Contributions
- Meaningful actions that have improved campus climate or positively affected colleagues, students, or community members.
Innovative Initiatives
- Development or implementation of creative programs, ideas, or practices that enhance collaboration, opportunity, and belonging.
Collaboration
- A demonstrated ability to work effectively across departments, teams, and roles to advance shared goals.
Advocacy
- Active efforts to support others, remove barriers, and encourage a culture grounded in respect.
Educational Efforts
- Initiatives that promote awareness, learning, and understanding across campus.
Sustainability
- Contributions that create long‑term positive change and help strengthen the CU Anschutz community for the future.
