Staff Council Committees

Campus & Community Engagement

The Campus & Community Engagement Committee acts as the catalyst for increasing the awareness and understanding of who Staff Council is and what we do. This committee strives to ensure that information within the council is shared effectively with the campus and public. The committee updates the Staff Council website, creates marketing materials, and edits/distributes the e-Newsletter. The committee also facilitates communication between Staff Council members by maintaining the council's internal Catalyst site.

Professional Development

The Professional Development Committee is focused on offering a variety of professional and personal development sessions throughout the year. We develop our yearly sessions based on the feedback we receive from past and current sessions in order to provide a diverse set of information from topics that staff wants to learn and hear about. Our sessions focus on staff development, personal budgeting and personal wellness.

Staff Appreciation & Employee Recognition

The Staff Appreciation/Recognition Committee focuses on offering appreciation events throughout each fiscal year; as well as seeking continuous nominations for our Employee of the Month program, recognizing staff who make a difference in our campus communities by going above and beyond.  We strive to promote Staff Council as a whole to host campus-wide opportunities for giving back through donation drives of all types, benefiting organizations and citizens in our surrounding communities.

Policy & Advocacy

We advocate and faithfully represent all CU Anschutz Medical Campus Staff interests in reviewing and discussing policies and legislative agendas, communicating to and from UCSC, and retrieve and report up-to-date information as distributed by other agencies including the State of Colorado Department of Personnel and Administration and other Colorado Higher Education> Institutions.

We work closely to organize the flow with other Staff Council sub-committees for on-campus networking and campus engagement events to help promote relevant policy and legislative issues of interest to CU Anschutz Medical Campus Staff.

We intermittently outreach of Personnel/Legislative key issues via campus list serves and online promotion of collaborative efforts.  We will advocate for assembly of membership to attend an annual one day visit to the State of Colorado Capital Legislative Branch to share voices on behalf of CU Anschutz Medical Campus Staff.

Communications

The Communications Committee works with the Communications Officer to develop and deploy communications both internally and externally for events, announcements and other important information. The Communications Committee is also responsible for updating the Staff Council website.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging

The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Committee is tasked with helping to bring about the cultural, and possibly ethical changes necessary for the CU Anschutz Medical Campus to assist in creating an environment where everyone, faculty, staff and students all feel like a valued part of the campus and the university.
