Kayte Spector-Bagdady, JD, MBE, is health law and bioethics faculty at the University of Michigan and is the interim co-director of the U-M Center for Bioethics and Social Sciences in Medicine. She is also an Associate Editor of the American Journal of Bioethics and a member of the National Academies committee on newborn screening.

Prior to joining U-M, Professor Spector was an Associate Director for President Obama’s Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues where she led reports on the history of research ethics, genetic testing, incidental findings, and clinical research design during the Ebola pandemic. David has been our go-to guy for everything under the sun—keeping the Fulginiti Pavilion running smoothly, making sure we shine in presentations, snapping incredible photos, all while also pulling off some amazing art exhibitions, including the campus's first ever mural, "Fly to Heal". His expertise in e-learning and tech has been a game-changer for all of us.

Dr. Justina Ford (1871-1952) was the first Black female physician licensed to practice medicine in the state of Colorado. Denied membership in Colorado Medical Society and privileges at Denver General Hospital because she was both Black and female, Dr. Ford instead treated patients out of her Five Points home. She cared for her patients no matter who they were with an attentive heart, skilled hands, and a mothering mind. Imbued with an indefatigable work ethic, Dr. Ford delivered over 7,000 babies during her fifty year career as a doctor.

As a textile artist, educator, and activist, NedRa Bonds creates quilts that explore issues dealing with women’s health and wellbeing, human rights and social justice, racism, and the environment. After being diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer in 2016, Bonds began working on projects that focus on the healing power of art.

The mural, Fly to Heal, by artist Juls Mendoza, on the west side of the Fulginiti Pavilion is intended to bear witness to the shared obligations we have to respect the rights of newly arrived children and their families. Whether providing medical services to patients, ethical consults to clients, teaching our students, or sharing arts and humanities with our community both on and off campus, we are committed to celebrating the inherent humanity that unites us all.

Open to students, faculty, staff and community members. No audition required. The Choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 5:15-6:30pm at the Fulginiti Pavilion. The Orchestra rehearses on Thursdays, from 6:00-7:30pm at ED2S-1102.
