University-Sponsored Travel Protocols | Spring 2025

We ask the campus community to be thoughtful when booking university-sponsored travel at this time. Approvals are required from your school or central campus leadership.

• What is the goal or purpose of the travel, and are there other ways to fulfill that goal or purpose without travel?

• Is there a remote option for attending a potential conference or meeting, or a local opportunity to engage with the content, group or purpose?

• Are the trip and the destination essential to furthering the mission of CU Anschutz?

• If traveling with a group to a single event, are all attendees required to take part in order to accomplish the goals of the trip?

• Is the conference or meeting required in order to recertify a professional license? Are there other online or remote options for securing required certifications or continuing education credits as an alternative to in-person functions?

• If traveling for a conference or meeting, are travel costs covered by non-university resources or the conference/meeting organizer? If so, ensure that CU Anschutz Conflict of Interest (COI) considerations are managed.
