Dear students, faculty and staff,
As wildfires burn across the Colorado Front Range ‒ including the Stone Canyon Fire, Alexander Mountain Fire and Quarry Fire ‒ CU Anschutz is working to make support and resources available to those impacted.
We are reaching out to the hundreds of students and employees who live in the affected areas to offer assistance, and we want to ensure all members of our community have access to the resources they need.
If you have been directly affected by the wildfires, we are here to help.
Contact the Office of Student Outreach and Support or call 303-724-8488 for assistance. Those displaced by the fires may also contact their school, college, or program's Dean of Students directly.
We will work with those impacted by the fires to make arrangements for administrative or other leave, or for temporary work arrangements, to help you navigate your circumstances. Those impacted by the fires who are unable to perform their work responsibilities should notify their supervisors for assistance. HR Business Partners within each school and department can assist with payroll processes associated with these options.
Numerous resources are available on campus and off. Colorado Crisis Services provides professional support at no cost 24/7 by calling 1-844-493-8255 or texting “TALK” to 38255.
Find links and contact information for the Stone Canyon, Alexander Mountain and Quarry fires on the fire resources webpage.
You can directly support CU Anschutz community members by giving to the CU Anschutz Emergency Relief Fund.
Events like these are distressing for many. Please remember that there are mental health resources available to all members of our community.
Please take care of yourselves and one another, and know that the campus community is here for you.
Sincerely,
Don Elliman
Chancellor
