The Center for Bioethics and Humanities brings together faculty from across the university, the state and the nation to support its responsibilities and goals in teaching, research and service.  These Individuals are making important contributions to the success of the Center.

Beau A. Carubia, MD
Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, University of Colorado School of Medicine.

Darcy Copeland, RN, PhD
Associate Professor of Nursing, University of Northern Colorado.  Dr. Copeland's research interests include families impacted by mental health issues and violence, and the intersection of healthcare and law.  She is pursuing her Master of Humanities at CU Denver.

Casey Frank, JD, MPH
Casey Frank is Adjunct Faculty in Forensic Psychiatry at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
Joseph Gal, PhD 
Professor Emeritus of Medicine and Pathology at the CU School of Medicine and former Director of the Toxicology Section of University of Colorado Hospital’s Clinical Laboratories. His scholarly activities focus on the history of science, with specific focus on Louis Pasteur’s work as a chemist and on the history of chemical warfare, including the moral and ethical aspects.

Robyn Gisbert, PT, DPT
Dr. Gisbert is Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, specializing in neurologic physical therapy; dance in physical therapy, humanities and bioethics.  She is an accomplished dancer, choreographer, singer, composer and pianist, and was the recipient of the 2019 Bernie Karshmer Award.

Todd Guth, MD
Dr. Guth is Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.  His interests include Team Communication, Medical Errors, Quality Assurance and Process Improvement, Medical Student and Resident Education, Inter-professional Education.
Lawrence Hergott, MD​  Professor, Division of Cardiology, University of Colorado School of Medicine.  Dr. Hergott's "scholarly" work has been the writing of philosophical essays and poems focused on how medical practitioners and their loved ones lead the medical life.  
Peter Hulac, MD​
Retired neonatologist, ethicist and expert in the realm of shared decision-making.

Daniel Johnson, MD, FAAHPM

Dr. Johnson is the National Physician Lead for Palliative Care at Kaiser Permanente’s Care Management Institute and is a practicing physician on the Palliative Care Consult Services at Exempla St. Joseph Hospital and Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center.  

Peggy Kelley MD​

Associate Professor of Otolaryngology, University of Colorado School of Medicine​​. Dr. Kelley practices pediatric otolaryngology at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Her scholarly work associated with ethics is around tracheostomy as well as surgical innovation. 

Paritosh Kaul, MD
Dr. Kaul is Professor of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at University of Colorado School of Medicine (SOM). 
He is Co-Director of the Culture, Health, Equity and Society Thread at SOM.
Stefan Mokrohisky, MD
Retired pediatrician, ethics consultant and educator.
Thomas J. Noel, PhD​
Tom "Dr. Colorado," Noel is a Professor of History and Director of Public History, Preservation & Colorado Studies at the University of Colorado Denver.  He also is co-director of the Center for Colorado & The West at the Auraria Library.  Tom is the author or co-author of 40 books, many articles and a Sunday history column for The Denver Post
Ifeoma Perkins, MD
Ifeoma U. Perkins is an assistant professor in the department of pathology and laboratory medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

Jessica Pierce, PhD
