Jelena joined the Center for Bioethics and Humanities as a Professional Research Assistant in May 2024.
She is currently contributing to an ARPA-H-funded project that explores the bioethical dimensions and public perceptions of novel ingestible electroceuticals, in collaboration with researchers at the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and New York University.

Before joining the center, Jelena completed her master's degree in Bioengineering at CU Anschutz. Her research focused on optimizing MRI sequences to improve the representation of smaller-scale tissue and vessel organization, which was applied to 3D-printed, patient-specific kidney models displaying renal cell carcinoma. Jelena is passionate about developing tools that empower patients by enhancing their autonomy and understanding of their own health.

She received her BS in Biology, with a minor in Bioengineering, from Colorado State University in 2019, and her MS in Bioengineering from CU Anschutz in 2023.
