Later this year, CU Anschutz will once again host Zip Car! The car sharing service is making its return after leaving campus in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Vehicles will be available for short-term rental in the East Overflow parking lot at the corner of 17th & Victor Streets, and in the Monte Vista Lot at the corner of 19th & Racine Streets.  

Zip Car is a flexible, convenient new transportation option for the CU Anschutz campus. These vehicles can be rented at an hourly rate for any individual’s personal use. Vehicles can also be reserved ahead of time, though no reservation is necessary. The costs of gas, insurance and maintenance are included for free with the service!    

To sign up, users pay a one-time $25 application fee and submit a valid driver’s license – most applications are approved almost instantly, and vehicles can be used within minutes. Once approved, Zip Car charges users a monthly membership fee of $9/month, with driving rates from $10/hour or $83/day. For more information about pricing, please see zipcar.com/pricing.  

Reservations, payment, and accessing the vehicle are all handled remotely via the Zip Car mobile app – Zip Car is totally self-service.
