Microsoft Copilot is an AI tool that can help you save time and improve productivity and is now approved for use through our university licensing. With its AI-powered capabilities and commercial data protection, Copilot is a secure and reliable tool that can assist with a variety of tasks, including generating images with DALL-E 3 and answering complex questions.
Copilot provides commercial data protection so that it can be used with public or confidential data. However, you should not input highly confidential data into the app. Microsoft does not keep data that is entered, nor does it train their large language models with the entered data. That is why it is the current preferred university AI tool.
Be sure you are signed into Copilot https://copilot.microsoft.com/ with your university account - you will see the message “Your personal and company data are protected in this chat” if you are properly signed in. Chat history in Copilot is not retained when used with commercial data protection. Select copy or download in the bottom left-hand corner if you want to save a generated answer from Copilot.
