Ensuring a Seamless and Secure Start to Fall – Working, Teaching and Learning
Aug 27, 2024Students, faculty and staff should be sure that your university password is up to date, and that your computer's applications, operating systems and software are all current. Following are some suggested steps to take:
Authentication: Be sure you have your username, password, and device for multi-factor authentication handy for accessing university resources. Need to reset your password? The new password reset process has been streamlined, making changing your password consistent regardless of how you initiate the change. To reset your password, account verification via MFA with the Duo Security app is required for enhanced security measures. Step by step instructions are available on the Password Reset Process webpage.
Devices and Operating Systems: Check to see if your laptop or desktop computer is configured with the latest software, including your web browser, and updated operating systems to optimize performance. This includes essential applications and tools – make sure you have all the necessary programs for your work.
Security: Remember, MFA with Duo must be used with the university’s VPN, remote desktop, Microsoft applications including Outlook for your university email, and the employee and student portals (my.cu.edu). More information about safely using Duo is available here.
The Service Desk is available to assist students, faculty and staff with technology questions. Extended phone support is available from 7:30am – 6pm, Monday – Thursday and 7:30am – 5pm, Friday by calling 303.724.4357 (or 4-HELP from a campus phone).
