For Sitefinity:

For those wishing to gain access to an existing Sitefinity website, please be sure that you have permission from the current site owner. Site owners can submit permissions approvals by submitting a ticket on the @Web website. Click the button to get started and find the relevant request form. 

For SharePoint Online:

SharePoint Online is the intranet solution used by the university.  Unlike Sitefinity, SharePoint sites, pages, and content require a user to sign in with their university credentials to view.
