Authorize Payers (Parents, Guardians, Family Members)

Students can authorize a parent, guardian, or other support person to view and pay their bill through Nelnet QuikPay, the university’s secure online payment system.

This is especially helpful for families who assist with tuition and fees.

How to Authorize a Payer:

  • Log into UCDAccess
  • Click View/Pay My Bill to open Nelnet QuikPay
  • In the left-hand menu, select Authorize Payers
  • Click Add New and enter the payer’s name and email address
  • The authorized payer will receive an email with login instructions

Authorized payers can:

  • View account balances
  • Make payments
  • Set up payment plans
  • Receive billing notifications

*** Students maintain full control over who has access and can update or remove payers at any time.

College Opportunity Fund (COF)

The College Opportunity Fund (COF) provides a tuition stipend to eligible undergraduate Colorado residents attending public colleges and universities in Colorado.

To receive the stipend, students must:

  1. Apply for COF at cof.college-assist.org
  2. Authorize COF in your UCDAccess portal

How to Authorize COF:

  • Log into UCDAccess
  • Go to Student Center > Student Account > COF Authorization/Review
  • Follow the instructions to authorize or edit your COF selection

*** You only need to authorize COF once, and the stipend will automatically apply each term as long as you're eligible.

Authorize Financial Aid to Pay All Charges

Federal financial aid (Title IV funds) automatically covers mandatory charges such as tuition and fees. If you want your aid to also cover non-mandatory charges—like:

  • Late payment fines
  • Monthly service charges
  • Course drop fees
  • Bookstore purchases
  • Health Insurance
  • RTD Fee
  • Other miscellaneous charges

—You must grant Title IV permission in UCDAccess.

How to Authorize Financial Aid (Title IV):

  • Log into UCDAccess
  • Go to Student Center > Student Account > View Student Permissions
  • Click Grant Permissions
  • Select FIN_AID, then click Next
  • Read the agreement, select Yes, I have read the agreement, and click Submit

*** Once granted, this permission remains on your record indefinitely.
If you wish to revoke this permission, please email [email protected] for assistance.

Late Payment Charges

If your account is past due, you may be charged:

  • one-time late charge based on your balance
  • monthly 1% service charge on the unpaid amount
Balance DueLate Charge
$1.00 – $99.99$5.00
$100 – $299.99$10.00
$300 – $499.99$20.00
$500 – $699.99$30.00
$700 – $899.99$40.00
$900 and over$50.00

*To dispute a late charge, service charge, or course drop fee, complete the Charge Petition Form.

**Students enrolled in an active payment plan will not incur late fees or service charges on the balance covered by that plan.

Stops on Your Records/Registration

If you owe the university an outstanding balance, a financial stop may be placed on your student record. This stop can prevent:

  • Class registration
  • Drop/add activity
  • Transcript requests
  • Diploma release

Common reasons for financial stops include:

  • Unpaid tuition or fees
  • Returned checks
  • Unpaid short-term or institutional loans

*** Enrollment is allowed if your prior term balance is less than $1,500.
If your balance is $1,500 or more, the balance must be paid below $1,500.00 to allow enrollment.

The entire amount must be paid in full for the financial stop to be removed.

All students who register for classes at CU Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus agree to the Tuition and Fee Agreement Disclosure during registration in UCDAccess.

I need to order a transcript, but I owe a past-due balance.

In compliance with Colorado House Bill 22-1049, you can complete a Transcript Hold Appeal Form to request that CU Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus review your circumstances for the release of your transcript.
