One of the perks of working on our campus is the availability of parking at below market rates for downtown. Students, faculty, and staff can park on the Auraria campus (west of Speer Boulevard) in surface lots and garages that are managed by the Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC). More information on those parking options is provided here. Faculty and staff also have the option of parking on the east side of Speer Boulevard in underground garages located within the Lawrence Street Center, CU Denver Building, and the Business School. CU Denver manages the parking operations in these facilities.
Student Par​king
Students have several options for parking on the Auraria Campus including lots and garages. AHEC manages parking on the west side of Speer Boulevard. Please contact the AHEC Parking & Transportation Services office for more information. All questions about parking on the west side of Speer Boulevard should be directed to AHEC at 303-556-2003.

Staff and Faculty Parking
Employees may also park in lots or garages managed by AHEC. Please contact the AHEC Parking & Transportation Services office (303-556-2003) for more information. CU Denver employees have additional parking options on the east side of Speer Boulevard. Underground Garages within Lawrence Street Center, CU Denver Building, and the Business School offer added security and protection from the elements. CU Denver’s Facilities Management department manages these parking garages. This is permitted parking only (no daily parking) but, but we offer various parking options to fit your work schedule. Parking in the garages is limited and available first come first served.

Reserved Parking means you have a parking space assigned to you and it is not shared with others.
Open Parking is defined by having access to the garage to find an open slot, but you do not have a designated space.
Tandem parking is where two cars share one space that is long enough to fit two cars. Parkers who share a tandem parking space need to coordinate as one parker will be blocking the other parker in.
**Those riding bicycles to work can secure their bikes in our garages at no cost. However, you must register your bike to get access to the garage through your campus ID badge.
How do I purchase a parking plan for CU Denver garages?
If you would like to purchase one of these permits, please fill out this form:
You must submit the form before noon on the 10th day of the month you wish to begin parking. New accounts are pro-rated on a half calendar month basis only for full-time parking permits (reserved, daytime, tandem).
After the form has been received, you will be notified when your parking agreement has been processed. The payroll office will be instructed to begin deducting the parking fee from your paycheck. In addition, your campus ID badge will be encoded to provide you access to the garage you have selected.
Should you elect to change your parking plan, use the same form (CU Denver Parking Agreement) to submit the request.

Parking is processed monthly, please notify the parking office of your intent to cancel by the last day of the month to avoid being charged for the following month.
