The CU Denver Facilities Management Department coordinates access for buildings, interior spaces and elevators for special events when a “CU Denver Electronic Access” resource in EMS has been requested.
It is your responsibility to submit the proper EMS request at least 3 business days prior to the event to ensure your request is granted.
The CU Denver Facilities Management Department only provides electronic access for the following buildings:
Student Commons
Lawrence Street Center
CU Building
Business School
For all other campus buildings in the Denver area not listed above, please speak with your department administrator or contact AHEC Access Control (303) 556-4296.
University policies require all buildings and facilities on the CU Denver Campus remain locked after normal business hours. These may vary by building.
Once the proper EMS request has been submitted and processed, the Facilities team will schedule (with some exceptions) a remote unlock/lock for the requested building or area.
Access for event attendees can also be accomplished in other ways.
Event organizers can assign a university staff member to the entrance of the building where the event is occurring to admit attendees (if staff member already has badge access to the building)
Temporary access can be assigned to event organizers with CU Denver ID badge upon request.
Note: It is the responsibility of the event organizer to monitor/supervise caterers and vendors during their event(s). In addition, please locate public parking options in advance. Facilities does NOT provide event, visitor or guest parking.
